DR DON BARRETT
Don Barrett was born in Palmerston North and moved to Lower Hutt in 1965 via Upper Hutt, Christchurch and Auckland – so has passing allegiances to several provinces.
He first arrived at Ropata as a General Practioner Registrar in 1982, joining the Practice in 1985. He is now a partner.
Don was educated at Hutt Valley High School and graduated from the University of Auckland as MBChB, also gaining post-graduate diplomas in Child Health and Obstetrics – the latter of which is close to his heart.
“I enjoy all aspects of General Practice, but especially child health.”
“Ropata provides a very high standard of medical care, which is made easier by the very strong support system among my General Practice colleagues,” says Don.
“Off-duty, I’m a long-suffering Wellington and Hurricanes rugby fan. I’m also a Petone man from my own rugby-playing days.”
