Ropata Medical Centre (RMC) is part of Cosine Primary Care Network, a Primary Health Organisation. Cosine was formed in January 2011, and comprises RMC in Lower Hutt and Karori Medical Centre in Wellington. Each Medical Centre remains an independent organisation, looking after its own enrolled patients. Cosine’s vision is:
To be recognised by the Ministry of Health and local District Health Boards as one of New Zealand’s most effective and innovative PHOs in terms of implementing the Primary Health Care strategy
As part of the Government’s Primary Healthcare Strategy, Cosine manages the Primary Healthcare funding from the Ministry of Health, and works with its providers, Ropata Medical Centre and Karori Medical Centre, to plan and deliver primary healthcare services to individuals enrolled with the practices. It works closely with the local District Health Boards, Hutt Valley DHB and Capital and Coast DHB.
Cosine is a not-for-profit Trust, governed by a Board of Trustees. The Trust Board consists of eight Trustees appointed to represent community, providers, and an Iwi representative – Rawiri Evans. The Trustees, representing Ropata Medical Centre (RMC) and Karori Medical Centre (KMC) are:
